Door Jam: November 6, 2013

An octogenarian fights a bear, while a middle school football coach fights his own stupidity and love for controversial chicken wings.

Someone discovered glow-in-the-dark ice cream, while atheists have discovered the Bible app.

The new Hobbit trailer has fights and discoveries. And awesomeness. Sounds like today’s Door Jam.

Guardian: An 80-year-old Russian got into a fight with a bear. After receiving one too many headbutts from Yusuf Alchagirov, the bear throw him over a cliff. But Yusuf survived both the tussle and the toss. He is slated to reprise his stunt in The Expendables 3. Not really. But probably.

AP: A middle school football coach was fired for refusing to change his plans for an end of the year team celebration at Hooters. Coach Randy Burbach said he would not pick a new restaurant because he always told his players to stand up for what they believe in. It appears Burbach believes in short skirts, tight shirts and wings. For middle school boys.

Relevant: Glow in the dark ice cream is here. Is it safe? Well, the creator said he has eaten some of his jellyfish inspired frozen dessert and nothing weird has happened to him yet. How very … reassuring?

RNS: Atheists are using the YouVersion Bible app to debate Christians. Read this story, see what the atheists are doing and remind me again how wrong and offensive it is for Christians to share their faith.

YouTube: Normal teaser trailers are to this Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug trailer as theatrical release BluRays are to special extended edition four BluRay sets. In other words, there is a whole lot of awesome packed into this three minute trailer.
