The news stories trended toward the serious and sober – illegal “adoptions,” abortion, the Civil War and the prosperity gospel. These are serious stories, particularly the first two, that deserve serious thought.
But because I want you to have a smile on your face today, I give you four words: Japanese. Office. Dinosaur. Prank. Oh yes, it is as awesome as it sounds.
Reuters: Knowing couples who have struggled through the long adoption process and some who are still waiting, I have little sympathy for these families who gave up their adopted children in these “underground (read: illegal and immoral) adoptions.” It is difficult to read the quote from one of the children given up. “How would you give me up when you brought me to be yours?”
USA Today: In a perfect world, these pregnant mothers would not have to leave their home nation to have their child. In a better world, the United States would be working to help them safely give birth to their children. In this world, we are, in essence, working to help the Chinese enforce their one-child policy.
Bangor Daily News: Civil War Medal of Honor given to a general who would later become governor of Maine was donated to a historical group after being purchased at a church sale. Like I said before, you never know what treasures are in some of these churches.
Christianity Today: Despite the best efforts of many, particularly Fake J.D. Greear, to mock it out of existence, the prosperity gospel continues to be a growing force in American (and global) Christianity.
YouTube: For people that have a general reputation of being reserved and stoic, the Japanese sure come up with crazy, hilarious pranks. I’m not advising you to attempt this yourself (especially if you are in a concealed carry state), but you can buy your own raptor costume to terrify your office building.
