Learning from innovators: #1

In working to reclaim creativity for our God, I believe the Church can learn from those who are current cultural innovators – adapting their relevant methods to work with our timeless Message.

Brad Bird, writer/director of The Incredibles is one of those people. He has won two Oscars for The Incredibles and Ratatouille

On how to stimulate innovative thinking, Bird said:

The first step in achieving the impossible is believing that the impossible can be achieved. … “You don’t play it safe—you do something that scares you, that’s at the edge of your capabilities, where you might fail. That’s what gets you up in the morning.

Read the whole interview. Bird talks about how he worked to shake things up at Pixar and how the company fosters creativity.
