Into the Wardrobe

As an honor to my blog’s namesake, here are some recent things I came across about C.S. Lewis. Louis Markos, author of, among others, The Life and Writings of C.S. Lewis, has listed his favorite Lewis sites. Unfortunately I am not there, but it does have some excellent resources for all thinks Narnia and Lewis.

Fred Sanders finds a list Lewis gave in 1962 of the ten books that influenced him the most:

1. George MacDonald, Phantastes
2. G. K. Chesterton, The Everlasting Man
3. Virgil, The Aeneid
4. George Herbert, The Temple
5. William Wordsworth, The Prelude
6. Rudolf Otto, The Idea of the Holy
7. Boethius, The Consolation of Philosophy
8. Boswell’s Life of Johnson
9. Charles Williams, Descent into Hell
10. Arthur James Balfour, Theism and Humanism
